A strong front moves toward the Kuskokwim Delta coast overnight tonight. Southerly onshore winds gusting up to 40 mph coupled with a lengthy fetch will promote elevated water levels 1 to 2 feet above normal high tide late tonight into early Thursday morning. Strongest winds are expected to peak Thursday morning, with up to 0.5 inches of rainfall. Areas of the coastline that are perpendicular to the southerly wind direction, such as Kwigillingok, have a higher chance of seeing impacts with this front. Strong southerly winds will continue through Thursday afternoon and evening before slowly diminishing through Thursday night.
