.An upper trough will continue to develop scattered thunderstorms in southeast Oregon and southwest Idaho today, especially this afternoon. Expect 30 to 50 percent areal coverage of thunderstorms with potential for new fire starts due to lightning.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Idaho, Fire Weather Zones 423 Owyhee Mountains and 426 Southern Highlands.

* TIMING...Until 6 PM MDT this evening.

* THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered coverage with abundant lightning.

* OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusty erratic winds up to 40 mph.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
