At 705 PM EDT, the public and doppler radar reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Public reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Mount Lebanon, Bethel Park, Ross Township, McCandless Township, Monroeville, Moon Township, McMurray, Weirton, McKeesport, Franklin Park, Aliquippa, Canonsburg, Gastonville, Shaler Township, Plum, West Mifflin and North Side Pittsburgh.
Several roads were flooded across the warned area, including in Mcdonald and the city of Pittsburgh.
