Invest 94W is now Tropical Depression 08W according to the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC). Currently, 08W is centered near 14.6N 146.0E as indicated in latest satellite and Guam radar imagery. Its current motion is roughly W at around 5 kt (6 mph). On its current track, the center of 08W should emerge W of the Marianas later today or tonight. The heaviest showers and strongest winds are found along its northern peripheries, mainly affecting Tinian and Saipan, and will persist through tonight. Rota and Guam are south of the circulation center, so the overall risk for heavy showers and gusty winds are overall decreasing.
Heaviest rainfall will be over Tinian and Saipan, with rainfall totals possibly reaching around 2.0 inches and sustained winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts around 50 mph within the heaviest showers. Additionally, locally higher amounts will be possible.
