The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Gila County in east central Arizona... Maricopa County in south central Arizona...

* Until 1045 PM MST.

* At 751 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Roosevelt, Apache Lake, Four Peaks, Roosevelt Dam and Tortilla Flat.

This includes the following streams and drainages... Salt River, Cottonwood Creek, Tonto Creek, Bronco Creek, Barge Creek, La, Tortilla Creek, Alder Creek, Buckhorn Creek, Burnt Corral Creek, Lewis and Pranty Creek, Boulder Creek, Barranca Creek, Ash Creek and Pine Creek.
