Flash Flood Warning

At 727 PM MDT, the public reported flows on Wahweap Creek from earlier thunderstorms that produced heavy rainfall over the warned area. Heavy rain fell primarily over upper reaches of the Paria River and over the Paria River near the confluence with Cottonwood Creek over to Wahweap Creek. Water will continue to flow downstream through Lower Hackberry Canyon, Bull Valley Gorge, and the Lower Paria River Canyon. Up to 1.00 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks, streams, slot canyons, and normally dry washes.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... areas within the Paria River drainage, including Bull Valley Gorge, Herm Pollock Slot Canyon, Lower Hackberry Canyon, and Lower Paria River Canyon.
