Flash Flood Warning

At 419 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas.

Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Morristown, Somerville, Bridgewater, Dover, Madison, Middlesex, Florham Park, East Hanover, Lincoln Park, Bound Brook, Manville and Kinnelon.

This includes the following highways... Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 12 and 53. Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 22 and 42. Interstate 80 in New Jersey between mile markers 34 and 48.
