For the following areas... Albemarle Sound... Croatan and Roanoke Sounds... S of Currituck Beach Light NC to Oregon Inlet NC out to 20 NM...

At 333 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located over The Center Of Roanoke Sound. The severe thunderstorm was nearly stationary.

HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts in excess of 50 knots, and large hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Boats could suffer significant structural damage in high winds and hail. Small craft could capsize in suddenly higher waves.

Locations impacted include... The Center Of Roanoke Sound, The Center Of Croatan Sound, Nags Head, Ar140, Ar130, and Kill Devil Hills.
