For the following areas... Tidal Potomac from Key Bridge to Indian Head MD...

At 656 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 17 nm west of Key Bridge, moving east at 35 knots. The gust to 58 knots at 653 PM was reported at Dulles International Airport.

HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 48 knots.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could suffer significant damage in high winds.

Locations impacted include... Fort Washington, Tidal Basin, Reagan National Airport, Gunston Hall, Mason Neck State Park, Woodrow Wilson Bridge, Indian Head, Fort Hunt, National Harbor, and Alexandria.
