...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Ohio...
Hocking River at Athens affecting Athens County.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring.
* WHERE...Hocking River at Athens.
* WHEN...Until this morning.
* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Low areas, campground, and private camps along the river between Athens and Coolville begin to flood. Much of the city of Athens is protected up to 26 feet by levees. In Nelsonville, the baseball field adjacent to Lake Hope Drive floods.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:15 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 20.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 16.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1:15 AM EDT Wednesday was 20.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early this morning and continue falling to 9.7 feet early Sunday afternoon. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 20.1 feet on 02/10/2019. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
