At 156 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, or 7 nm southwest of Oregon Inlet, moving east at 10 knots. At 148 PM, a gust of 46 kt was reported at the Oregon Inlet Coast Guard station.
HAZARD...Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves.
Locations impacted include... Ar145, Ar160, Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, Oregon Inlet, and Rodanthe.
