For the following areas... Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD...

At 518 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Deale to 7 nm north of Port Tobacco River to Brent Point, moving east at 35 knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 48 knots and small hail.

SOURCE...Observed wind.

IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could suffer significant damage in high winds.

Locations impacted include... Potomac Creek, Maryland Point, Nanjemoy Creek, Port Tobacco River, Leesylvania State Park, Smallwood State Park, Quantico, Cobb Island, Swan Point, Mathias Point, U.S. 301 Nice Memorial Bridge, Mason Neck State Park, Indian Head, Occoquan Bay, Popes Creek, Brent Point, Westmoreland State Park, and Fairview Beach.
