The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Southeastern Greene County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 600 AM CDT.

* At 206 AM CDT, Emergency management reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. Numerous reports of water rescues and stranded vehicles.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Springfield, Republic, Battlefield, Brookline and Galloway.

This includes the following low water crossings... Wilson Creek at Farm Road 146, Wilson's Creek at Farm Road 150 and Wilson Creek at Farm Road 156.
