The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Coconino County in north central Arizona...This includes the Colorado River between river miles 85 and 87...and between river miles 90 and 98.

* Until 600 PM MST.

* At 259 PM MST, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.75 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.

SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, normally dry washes, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Pima Point, Hermit's Rest, Monument Creek Vista, Hopi Point, Maricopa Point, South Rim Visitors Center, Pipe Creek Resthouse, Pipe Creek Vista, Yaki Point, Grand Canyon Village, Plateau Point, South Rim, Devil?s Corkscrew and Skeleton Point.

This includes the Colorado River between river miles 85 and 87...and between river miles 90 and 98.

Havasupai Gardens Campground, Mather Campground, Clear Creek Camp Site, Below Clear Creek Camp Site, Zoroaster Camp Site, Above Cremation Camp Site, Below Pipe Creek Camp Site, 91 Mile Creek Camp Site, Trinity Creek Camp Site, Above Salt Creek Camp Site, Salt Creek Camp Site, Granite Camp Site, Lower Granite Camp Site, 94 Mile Canyon Camp Site, Hermit Camp Site, Old Dune Camp Site, Bull Schist Camp Site, Schist Camp Site, Upper Boucher Camp Site, Boucher Camp Site and Pipe Creek Rest Area.

This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Bright Angel Creek, Colorado River, 91- Mile Creek, Zoroaster Canyon, Heather Wash, Sapphire Canyon, Slate Creek, Clear Creek, Travertine Canyon, Monument Creek, Cremation Creek, Coconino Wash, Pipe Creek, Boucher Creek, Agate Canyon, 94- Mile Creek, Ninetyone Mile Creek, Crystal Creek, Trinity Creek, Lonetree Canyon, Hermit Creek, Horn Creek, Bright Angel Wash, Salt Creek and Garden Creek.
