At 335 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Bethany, or 8 miles southeast of Madison, moving southeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.
Locations impacted include... Greensboro, Burlington, McLeansville, Elon, Summerfield, Gibsonville, Stokesdale, Haw River State Park, Lake Guilford Mackintosh Marina, and Forest Oaks.
This includes the following highways... Interstate 85 between Mile Markers 126 and 131. Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 132 and 140, and between Mile Markers 221 and 226.
