The National Weather Service in Elko has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... The New Pass burn scar in... Southwestern Lander County in north central Nevada...

* Until 315 PM PDT.

* At 1220 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the New Pass Burn Scar. Between 0.4 and 0.5 inches of rain has fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 2.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation, and other loose materials.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms in and around the New Pass Burn Scar.
