At 106 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 13 nm east of Engelhard to near Pamlico Sound to near Hatteras Inlet, moving east at 20 knots.
HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 50 knots.
SOURCE...Marine observation. At 104 AM, a 53 knot wind gust was reported at the Pamlico Sound WeatherFlow station.
IMPACT...Boats could suffer significant structural damage in high winds. Small craft could capsize in suddenly higher waves.
Locations impacted include... Hatteras Village, Pamlico Sound, The Center Of The Pamlico Sound, and Cape Hatteras.
