Areas of rain on Tuesday will transition to snow in the Eastern Brooks Range Tuesday evening. Snow then continues through the day on Wednesday. Given the rain beforehand, snow will struggle to accumulate immediately but there will be minor accumulations by Wednesday morning. Wednesday afternoon there may be a brief break, allowing snow to gradually melt. Then snow returns Wednesday evening before diminishing into snow showers Thursday morning.
Snow totals around 1 to 2 inches are expected overnight Tuesday into Wednesday in the area from Atigun Pass to Sagwon. Snow will continue through the day but struggle to stick due to warmer temperatures and higher sun angle. Wednesday night, another 1 to 2 inches of snow are expected to accumulate before tapering off.
