The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Northeastern San Miguel County in southwestern Colorado... South Central Montrose County in west central Colorado...

* Until 900 PM MDT.

* At 604 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain north of Norwood near Norwood Hill. Between 0.6 and 1.1 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Norwood and areas along Highway 145 between Norwood and Norwood Hill as well as Highway 90 along the Divide Road north of Norwood.

This includes the following streams and drainages... San Miguel River and Horsefly Creek.
