...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in North Carolina...
(English) Broad River At above Sandy Run Ck, 3 SSW Boiling Springs affecting Cleveland County.
.Heavy tropical showers will taper off across the Broad River basin this morning. But runoff from widespread 4 to 6 inches of storm total rainfall will cause flooding along the Broad River. Interests all along the Broad River, even as far upstream as Bat Cave are urged to monitor river levels and take appropriate action as needed.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...(English) Broad River at above Sandy Run Ck, 3 SSW Boiling Springs.
* WHEN...From this morning to Monday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Minor Flood Stage. Broad River floodwaters may be approaching the base of residential home foundations between Abe's Mountain Rd. and the river. At 14.0 feet, Moderate Flood Stage. Broad River floodwaters may be inundating the foundations of homes located between Abe's Mountain Rd. and the river and threatening residential first floors. Low-lying roads near the vicinity of Abe's Mountain may be inundated by floodwaters. The Broad River Greenway is experiencing flooding of low-elevation trails and picnic areas along the river. Floodwaters may be impacting local campgrounds near the river as well.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 5:30 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 11.6 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this morning to a crest of 13.5 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage late tonight. - Flood stage is 12.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 13.4 feet on 01/25/2010. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
