At 1248 PM EDT, trained weather spotters and emergency managers reported several roads closed and water rescues near the coast in Monmouth County. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. High tide is right around now, which will result in water being slow to drain.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses.
Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Long Branch, Asbury Park, Sandy Hook, Middletown, Howell, Marlboro, Tinton Falls, Holmdel, Red Bank, Keansburg, Matawan and Highlands.
This includes the following highways... Interstate 195 in New Jersey between mile markers 33 and 34. Garden State Parkway between mile markers 98 and 122.
