...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR WEST FACING SHORES OF THE BIG ISLAND...

.Rough short to medium period south-southwest swell from Hurricane Nolo is expected to generate a quick pulse of advisory level surf for south facing shores of all islands and west facing shores of the Big Island today. While this is currently forecast to gradually fade below advisory thresholds tonight, there is some uncertainty in how quickly this will occur and it is possible that advisory level surf may persist through Tuesday even as the swell becomes southwesterly.

* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 7 to 10 ft.

* WHERE...South facing shores of Kauai.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM HST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous.
