* WHAT...For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 98 expected. For the Extreme Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 105 expected.
* WHERE...Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, Schuyler, Seneca, Southern Cayuga, Southern Oneida, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, and Yates Counties.
* WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, until 8 PM EDT this evening. For the Extreme Heat Warning, from 11 AM Wednesday to 8 PM EDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The hottest temperatures will be in urban valley locations during the mid to late afternoon timeframes when the heat index could climb as high as 105 to 110 degrees.
