Flash Flood Warning

At 539 PM MDT, the public reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. NM Highway 304 near Las Nutrias is closed due to flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.25 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Bernardo, Veguita, La Joya, Abeytas, Contreras, Las Nutrias and Sabinal.

This includes the following highways... Highway 60 between Mile Markers 166 and 173. Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 168 and 183.
