...BREEZY WESTERLY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY SATURDAY...
.A weather system will bring widespread breezy westerly winds through the Cascade gaps and across the Columbia Basin and portions of the Blue Mountains region on Saturday afternoon and evening. Coupled with low relative humidity, this may lead to critical fire weather conditions.
The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Friday evening through Saturday afternoon.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 695 East Washington South Central Cascade Mountains.
* TIMING...From Friday evening through Saturday afternoon.
* WINDS...West 5 to 10 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 42 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
