At 241 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar, automated gauges and broadcast media reports.
IMPACT...Rapid-onset flooding of creeks, streams, drainage ditches, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and other poor drainage areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Paxton, Gibson City, Melvin, Loda, Roberts, Elliott, Sibley and Clarence.
Additional rounds of thunderstorms are expected early this morning. Given significant rainfall over the past two days, flooding impacts will increase quickly.
