The National Weather Service in Binghamton has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for... North Central Sullivan County in central New York...

* Until 745 AM EDT Wednesday.

* At 142 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Parksville, Livingston Manor, Parkston and Anderson.

Water levels on Willowemoc Creek are 9 feet at Livingston Manor. Nearby roads such as Debruce Road and Old Route 17 remain flooded. Heavy rain has moved out of the area though runoff will keep the creek levels elevated for several more hours.
