At 228 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles south of Summersville to near Powellton. Movement was southeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.
Locations impacted include... Beckley, Summersville, Fayetteville, Rainelle, Babcock State Park, Oak Hill, Mount Hope, Ansted, Gauley Bridge, Bradley, Powellton, Hawks Nest State Park, Piney View, Stanaford, Prosperity, Burnwell, Shady Spring, Beaver, Meadow Bridge, and Pax.
This includes the following highways... West Virginia Turnpike between mile markers 47 and 71. Interstate 64 in West Virginia between mile markers 125 and 137. Route 19 between mile markers 1 and 39.
