Details

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
* WHERE...A portion of western Maryland, including the following areas, Eastern Garrett and Western Garrett.
* WHEN...Through this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected, with the first round starting around or shortly before daybreak, and the final round ending by late this evening. A widespread 1 to 2 inches of rain is expected, with localized totals of 3 to 5 inches possible where heavier thunderstorms move through. Given saturated soils after recent rainfall, some instances of flash flooding may occur. Considerable flash flooding is possible if the heaviest rainfall amounts occur over areas that saw the heaviest rain recently. - Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety and preparedness information.
