.Large quantities of rain have fallen over Indiana over the past several days bringing widespread flooding to much of central and part of southern Indiana. Rainfall accumulations of up to ten plus inches fell from northwest Indiana to east central Indiana to southeast Indiana, and 4 to 6 inches fell in the immediate vicinity of the northern and middle Wabash River...with even higher amounts just over the Illinois/Indiana state border near Covington.

Numerous locations along the Wabash River are reaching moderate flood stage. The crest passed Lafayette today and should reach and should reach Covington Monday evening.

Additional rain is possible overnight tonight, followed by decreasing clouds and dry weather Monday.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wabash River at Lafayette.

* WHEN...Until late Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Flood waters cover SR 225 from just north of Stair Road to just south of the bridge over the Wabash River. Tippecanoe CR 950 W south of CR 75 S is completely flooded from the Wabash Bottoms Janssen Tract area to Warren CR 350 N in the Black Rock Preserve Area. Four residences on high ground along CR 950 W cannot access CR 950 W by land vehicles. Barton Beach Rd closed. Local roads in the Granville Bridge area and homes near N 9th St also affected.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 19.3 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 PM EDT Sunday was 19.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late Thursday morning and continue falling and remain below flood stage. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
