Details

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected.
* WHERE...East facing reefs of the Marianas.
* WHEN...From this afternoon through Saturday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Long-period east to northeast swell, emanating from distant Typhoon Dolphin, is expected to develop a high risk of rip currents along north-facing reefs beginning tonight, with hazardous surf also likely to develop along north and east-facing reefs tonight. As Dolphin passes the far northern CNMI, the long- period swell direction is expected to shift north early next week, and then northwest. As it does so, a high risk of rip currents, and hazardous surf, is expected to develop along west facing reefs later this week.
