Special Weather Statement

At 500 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7 miles north of Elberta, or 11 miles west of Payson, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include... Provo, Payson, Spanish Fork, Springville, Mapleton, Salem, Elk Ridge, Woodland Hills, Brigham Young University, Palmyra, Benjamin, Lake Shore, Utah Lake, West Mountain, Spring Lake, Elberta, and Genola.

This includes the following highways... Interstate 15 between mile markers 248 and 266. US Route 6 between mile markers 174 and 185.
