Winter Storm Warning

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches expected, with 1 to 3 inches expected from Northway to the Alcan Border along the Alaska Highway. Locally higher snow totals of 12 to 16 inches will be possible, especially between Tanacross and Dot Lake. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. Rain may mix with snow in the Upper Tanana Valley around Northway to the Alcan Border.

* WHERE...Delta Junction, Fortymile Country, and Upper Tanana Valley.

* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 4 PM AKDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Northwest wind gusts may be as high as 35 mph Tuesday morning into early Wednesday morning.
