The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... The Cottonwood burn scar in... Southwestern Piute County in central Utah...

* Until 415 AM MDT.

* At 126 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the Cottonwood burn scar in Piute County. Between 0.5 and 0.75 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow moving through the City Creek, Ten Mile Creek, and Cottonwood Creek. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding in and around the Cottonwood burn scar in Piute County and points downstream to Highway 89 between milepost 164-177.
