At 1050 AM CDT, Emergency Management reported flash flooding near Ainsworth as well as in Muscatine this morning. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen so far and additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area in additional thunderstorms. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Muscatine, Washington, Aledo, Tipton, West Branch, Wapello, Sigourney, Columbus Junction, Durant, Mechanicsville, Stanwood, Marion, Hiawatha, West Liberty, Robins, Williamsburg, Wilton and Center Point.
This includes the following highways... Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 205 and 229...and between mile markers 254 and 278. Interstate 380 between mile markers 25 and 35.
