* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following counties, Smyth and Wythe.
* WHEN...Until 1230 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 927 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Dry Creek, Cripple Creek, Deans Branch, Blue Spring Creek, Dulton Branch, Hungry Mother Creek, Georges Branch, Dry Run, Cold Run, Killinger Creek and Dungeon Branch. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Marion...
