...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR EAST AND SOUTHEAST FACING SHORES OF MOLOKAI MAUI AND THE BIG ISLAND THROUGH SUNDAY...

.Hurricane Nolo is generating a moderate swell that is producing advisory level surf along east and southeast facing shores of the Big Island, Maui, and Molokai that will maintain tonight and then diminish on Sunday as Nolo moves westward away from the islands. Strengthening trades also cause building surf which peaks tonight for east facing shorelines and begins to diminish on Sunday.

* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 9 to 12 ft today, becoming 10 to 14 ft tonight.

* WHERE...East facing shores of Kauai and Oahu.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM HST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Moderate to high. Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous. Waves breaking in channel entrances may make navigating the channels dangerous.
