* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Southeastern Lincoln County in central New Mexico...
* WHEN...Until 1000 AM MDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 952 PM MDT, gauge reports indicated a significant and dangerous flood wave moving down the Rio Hondo. Water will continue to exceed the banks of the river through the overnight hours. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. - Additional rainfall overnight will exacerbate flooding impacts. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
