...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING FOR STRONG GUSTY WIND AND LOW RH FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 624 AND 625...
The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a Fire Weather Watch, which is in effect from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening.
* RED FLAG WARNING AFFECTED AREA...Areas in southern Oregon along and east of the Cascades, but primarily north and east of a line from Chiloquin and Sprague River to Lakeview in Fire Weather Zones 624 and 625.
* THUNDERSTORMS TODAY...Moving roughly north to northeast around 20 mph. Storm mode will be mostly wet thunderstorms, but dry lightning strikes can occur outside of wet cores. Some of the stronger storms will contain hail.
* OUTFLOW WINDS...Isolated gusts up to 45 mph.
* FIRE WEATHER WATCH AFFECTED AREA...Nearly all areas east of the Cascades in Fire Weather Zones 624 and 625.
* WINDS...Southwest to west 10 to 20 mph with gusts 30 to 40 mph both Friday and Saturday afternoon and evening.
* MINIMUM HUMIDITY...5 to 15 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
