* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...The island of Kauai in Kauai County...
* WHEN...Until 115 PM HST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. Water over roadways. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 957 AM HST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated light to moderate rain continues over the island of Kauai. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly within the advisory area. Heavier rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Lihue, Kapaa, Kalaheo, Kekaha, Hanapepe, Lawai, Omao, Waimea, Koloa, Poipu, Kokee State Park and Wailua Homesteads.
Instructions
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding.
Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on foot. Turn around, don't drown.
