* WHAT...Flooding caused by onshore flow restricting Kuskokwim River drainage in combination with excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Kuskokwim near Bethel.
* WHEN...Until 100 PM AKDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated. Ponding of water in areas is occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 504 AM AKDT, river gauge reports indicate that receding water levels have dropped below minor flood stage near Bethel. However, persistent high water levels along the Kuskokwim River near Bethel in conjunction with this morning's high tide may increase water levels back above minor flood stage. This is due to the Kuskokwim River back-up in combination with heavy rain runoff farther upstream. Minor flooding will continue from overflow of poor drainage areas. - For Kuskokwim River at Bethel: At 4:50am the stage was 8.2 feet. Flood Stage is 8.5 feet.
Impacts: At 7.0 feet: Action and bankfull stage. At 8.5 feet: Minor flood stage. Water starts to back up along Brown Slough and flood low lying areas. At 12.0 feet: Moderate flood stage. At 14.0 feet: Major flood stage.
