Details

* WHAT...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, minor to moderate coastal flooding can be expected near times of high tide. Localized damage is possible in most vulnerable low-lying areas. For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 5 to 8 feet with dangerous rip currents is expected.
* WHERE...Malibu Coast and Los Angeles County Beaches.
* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, until 2 PM PDT Tuesday. For the High Surf Advisory, until 9 PM PDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Minor to moderate flooding of sea water is likely over some vulnerable low-lying coastal areas, especially around the time of high tide, including over beach parking lots, bike paths, and harbor walkways. Moderate beach erosion is likely. Isolated damage is unlikely but possible, especially across most vulnerable areas. There is an increased risk for ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large breaking waves can cause injury, wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats near shore.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tides of around 7.5 feet are expected for Monday and Tuesday mornings. Large secondary high tides are also expected each evening.

Instructions

Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. Do NOT drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
Remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions, or stay near occupied lifeguard towers. Rock jetties can be deadly in such conditions, stay off the rocks.
