Driftwood River near Edinburgh.

.Major river flooding is expected. Heavy rainfall of three to eight or more inches have fallen bringing major flooding to area waterways, including the Big Blue River at Shelbyville. Other areas such as the Driftwood near Edinburgh and the Flatrock River at Columbus should expect moderate river flooding as well. At the current time, further downstream locations on the East Fork White can expect minor lowland flooding, but may approach moderate levels.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Flatrock River near Columbus.

* WHEN...Until Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Extensive flooding in progress along the Flatrock River. Portions of Riverside Drive north of US Highway 31 are flooded. According to the Columbus Response Plan... Indianapolis Road is flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 5:30 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 10.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this morning to a crest of 15.0 feet early tomorrow afternoon.
