* WHAT...For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 7 to 12 feet and a high risk of rip currents. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, minor coastal flooding with up to 1 foot of inundation and large breaking waves leading to splash over and beach erosion. This is a long duration event...with these impacts felt over multiple tide cycles beginning Saturday morning and continuing through Sunday evening.
* WHERE...In Maine, Coastal York County. In New Hampshire, Coastal Rockingham County.
* WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, until 8 PM EDT Sunday. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from 10 AM Saturday to 11 PM EDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected. Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion.
Instructions
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.
