The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... The Salt Fire Burn Scar in... Northern Otero County in south central New Mexico...

* Until 415 PM MDT.

* At 210 PM MDT, gauge reports indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the Salt Fire Burn Scar. Over a half inch of rain has fallen in about a half hour, and rainfall rates up to 4 inches an hour have been briefly observed. Portions of Highway 70 between Apache Summit and the Lincoln County line may be impacted.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding in and around the Salt Fire Burn Scar.
