* Special Marine Warning for... Coastal waters from NC VA border to Currituck Beach Light NC out 20 NM... Currituck Sound... Waters from NC VA border to Currituck Beach Light NC from 20 to 60 NM...

* Until 1145 PM EDT.

* At 1023 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 11 nm southwest of Deal Island to Knotts Island Bay, moving southeast at 15 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to 40 knots, and large hail.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in structural damage.

* Locations impacted include... Currituck Beach Light, Currituck Beach, Knotts Island Bay, Currituck Sound, Deal Island, and Kill Devil Hills.
