At 147 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms extending from near Pilot Mountain State Park to Pine Hall to near Bethany to near Jericho. Movement was southeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail and heavy rainfall .
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.
Locations impacted include... Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Durham, High Point, Chapel Hill, Burlington, Graham, Hillsborough, Kernersville, and Clemmons.
This includes the following highways... Interstate 85 between Mile Markers 33 and 35, and between Mile Markers 119 and 172. Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 132 and 269. the Durham Freeway near Mile Marker 17. Interstate 73 between Mile Markers 94 and 103. Interstate 74 between Mile Markers 56 and 69.
