* WHAT...For the Beach Hazards Statement, warm air temperatures in the 80s to near 90 may cause people to underestimate the dangers of the cold water temperatures in the upper 50s and lower 60s.. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, Minor coastal flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...In Maine, Coastal York and Coastal Cumberland Counties. In New Hampshire, Coastal Rockingham County.
* WHEN...For the Beach Hazards Statement, from 8 AM EDT this morning through this evening. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from 9 PM this evening to 1 AM EDT Monday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected. The cold water temperatures can quickly cause hypothermia to anyone immersed in the water. When the water temperature is below 60 degrees, the average submerged person could lose dexterity within minutes and be unable to accomplish simple tasks. Anyone on boats or paddlecraft should use extreme caution to avoid this threat.
