* Flash Flood Warning for... Northern Boone County in central West Virginia... Southern Kanawha County in central West Virginia... Northeastern Lincoln County in central West Virginia... Northwestern Fayette County in southeastern West Virginia... Southwestern Putnam County in western West Virginia...

* Until 530 PM EDT.

* At 227 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Charleston, South Charleston, Montgomery, Chesapeake, Marmet, Belle, Cedar Grove, East Bank, Glasgow, Smithers, Gauley Bridge, Pratt, Coal Fork, Julian, Burnwell, Alum Creek, Tornado, Powellton, Spurlockville and Handley.

This includes the following highways... Route 119 between mile markers 53 and 75. West Virginia Turnpike between mile markers 66 and 94.
