The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for... Chesapeake Bay from Drum Point MD to Smith Point VA... Tangier Sound and the inland waters surrounding Bloodsworth Island... Tidal Potomac from Cobb Island MD to Smith Point VA...

* Until 830 PM EDT.

* At 653 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from Taylors Island to near Town Creek to near Westmoreland State Park, moving east at 25 knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and waterspouts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Boaters in small craft could be thrown overboard by suddenly higher winds and waves capsizing their vessel. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas.

* Locations impacted include... Smith Island, Piney Point, Crisfield, Deep Hole, Mouth Of The Potomac River, Nanticoke River Mouth, Southwest Middle Grounds, Ewell, Point Lookout, Tall Timbers, Tangier Sound, Saint George Island, Point No Point, Bivalve, The Targets, and Deal Island.
